The Greek Federation of Spirits Producers (SEAOP) had a dynamic presence at the International Bar Exhibition “Bar Convent Berlin 2019”. By methodically promoting Greek spirits across the world and aiming, in principle, at the bar section, SEAPOP was, for the first time, among the 400 exhibitors of the Berlin fair with its own stand, supported by Enterprise Greece and Aegean Cocktails & Spirits.
Bar Convent Berlin was chosen because it is the most important exhibition event ρεγαρδινγ bars, and took place on October 7, 8 & 9 at the Berlin Station in a 24,000 sqm showroom, attracting more than 14,000 visitors and journalists from 78 countries.
Specifically, the SEAOP stand, which was specially designed to feel like a bar, featured 23 Greek brands under the “Taste the Greek Spirit” moniker and was staffed with 2 renowned Greek bartenders, that prepared drinks from Greek spirits (namely, tsipouro, aged tsipouro, ouzo and mastic liqueur).
Furthermore, during the second day of the event, a 45 mins seminar on “DPO Greek Spirits behind the Bar” also took place. The speakers included Ms Deni Kallivoka (Aegean Cocktails & Spirits) and Mr Dimitris Kiakos (owner of “The Gin Joint”, co-owner of “To Lokali”, both in Athens, Greece, and the only non-British member of The Gin Guild).
The initiative to participate in the Bar Convent Berlin 2019 was part of a wider promotional program of Greek Distilleries, following a recent cooperation between SEOP and Enterprise Greece, an organization aiming to promote Greek products and services to the global marketplace and help Greek businesses reach new markets, find new business partners, and become more competitive and attractive.
