Founded in 1979, Semeli Estate is a leading Greek winery and one of the country’s most significant wine-related units. With deep roots in time-honored traditions and, at the same time, looking towards the future, the Estate produces wines of exceptional quality offering consumers best value for money. Having established a strong brand name in the Greek market, Semeli Estate looks for new challenges and opportunities in the global arena. With 15% of its revenue coming from exports mainly to the USA and the UK, growth is driven by three key factors: leveraging its excellent human resources, consistently boosting exports and building long term relationships with its customers by ensuring that its wines top their best buy lists.
For the first half of the year, sales rose 10% in Greece, while exports also rose significantly –namely by 45%– compared to the same period last year.
“In addition to boosting turnover, exports give added value to the Semeli brand,” emphasizes Mr Leonidas Nassiakos, General Manager of the Estate. In fact, at the moment, exports account for approximately 20% of sales, and are expected to reach 30-35% within the next three years.
In addition, last March the first order was sent to Japan, a market of particular interest, and in the near future Semeli Estate is planning to launch its wines in Colombia.
