Greek cuisine travels to London

Greek gastronomy and foodstuff were featured in this year’s National Geographic Traveller Food Festival, a 2-day celebration of international cuisine which took place in London, on July 20-21. The Greek National Tourism Organization attended the event with the country’s own stand, along with the Regions of Attica, Crete, South Aegean, and Western Greece, the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Greek Wine Federation. This participation was part of the organization’s communication and marketing strategy for the year 2019-2020, which aims to promote Greece’s gastronomy tourism to UK professionals as well as the public, and advertise Greece as a unique gastronomy destination.

The Food Festival hosted major UK tour operators, tourism enterprises and national tourism organizations not only from Greece, but from many other countries, featured workshops with the participation of award-winning chefs from all over the world, cooking sessions, interviews and panel discussions, and gave visitors a chance to learn about some of the exceptional experiences with food and drink from around the world.
