Wines from Ktima Gerovassiliou in Epanomi, near Thessaloniki, in Northern Greece have found their rightful place in the wine lists of 32 renowned restaurants in London as well as in many of the most popular restaurants in Manhattan. In fact, Malagouzia, a white Greek variety, is currently gaining momentum –it has recently achieved 49th place between 16,000 other varieties from across the globe, according to the “Top 100” list of the esteemed Wine Spectator magazine– whereas, together with Assyrtiko, are the two most favored Greek wine varieties in international markets, spearheading the country’s exports.
