Committed to its pioneering spirit, EURIMAC has launched a new line of low glycemic index (GI) pasta. The company from Kilkis (Northern Greece) developed these products as a response to the growing consumer demand for tasty food that helps manage blood sugar levels. 

After deep and extensive procedures, such as the appropriate testing and analysis, EURIMAC collaborated with the only accredited laboratory in Europe specializing in glycemic index testing (Oxford Brookes UK), following the ISO 26642:2010 standard. Through completing all necessary steps, the company’s MAKVEL pasta line received official low-GI certification, having the right to demonstrate its positive impact. 

The exact products that have been certified are MAKVEL’s spaghetti, penne, orzo, and linguine varieties. The indicative tagline “For the First Time – Pasta with 60% Less Sugar and the Same Great Taste as Classic Varieties!” leads the way of promoting the product line to a health-conscious audience, while EURIMAC aims to expand their global appeal through partnerships with international retailers and distributors.
