Voreia means north in Greek, and the name Siris Craft Brewery, based in Serres, Northern Greece, gave its best selling beer collection. In 2024, for yet another year, Siris Craft Brewery took part at Greek Beer Awards, garnering important distinctions within the industry.
The judges, through a blind taste test of beers from Greece and other Eastern and Southern European countries, awarded Voreia Pilsner
• as Top Lager
• with the Gold Award in the Modern Pilsner category
Voreia Pilsner is a golden transparent beer, with full white foam, filled with floral, citrus, mild malt and subtle bitterness aromas, with hops appearing at the beginning, giving way to malt, which intensifies in its aftertaste, leaving an underlying sweetness.
It can be served with lighter meats, seafood (squid, shellfish, tuna, salmon), soft cheeses (such as mozzarella), fresh fruit, and if one is into anything more adventurous, pairing with an apple pie is also a suggestion.
In total, Siris Craft Brewery won 5 awards, with its products Voreia Imperial Porter, Voreia Irish Red και Happy Brewers New England IPA being placed also in the competition’s top tier.
