The Cyclades Microbrewery at Tinos a.k.a. Nissos –fun fact: Nissos in Greek means “island”– started from zero in 2012, in the midst of Greece’s financial crisis, by Alexandros Kouris and Maya Tsoklis. Today, Nissos is one of the most famous microbreweries in Greece, while its artisanal, unpasteurized beers are brewed and bottled in small quantities. The brand’s first export destination –an effort which is implemented as we speak– is Thailand, a country with its own significant beer production. The first Nissos shipment has already left the Aegean island and more are expected in the near future.
