This November 19-21, Athens became the hub for professional sommeliers from around the world on their way to earning their Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) diplomas. The leading global sommelier certification collaborates with WSPC, the leader in sommelier education in Greece, offering CMS courses and exams (Introductory and Certified exams) twice a year (in November and April) and putting Greece on the world wine map.
Three Masters Sommelier (MS) / representatives of the CMS organization, as well as Konstantinos Lazarakis MW, President of the WSPC, announced the results at a glorious party at the WSPC facilities in Paleo Faliro, in Athens.
The successful candidates –including Greek sommeliers from renowned restaurants– performed excellently and did not hide their excitement when they received their diplomas at the graduation dinner, therefore completing a particularly demanding weekend.
Front and center at the event were Greek wines. In fact, taking advantage of the presence in Greece of prestigious personalities and professional sommeliers occupying important positions in the world’s top restaurants, Greek Winemakers offered their selected labels and honored the organizers and participants with their presence during the training program.
