The international food and beverage exhibition, Sial Canada, Canada’s most important food industry trade show, was held at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal Exhibition Center during the May 15th and 17th, 2024. It is an annual fair, organized alternately in Toronto and Montreal (the next trade show will be held in Toronto, in May 2025).
According to the Toronto Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs, the Greek presence was curated by the “Great Exhibitions” company, while “Alfa Pastry” and “Manolakis Estate” participated independently. The companies “Olivellas”, “Imperial Olives”, Hellenic COOP (Greek Agricultural Cooperative Group), “Almi”, “Latrovalis” and “Eurimac” participated with the financial and substantial support of the Region of Central Macedonia. The fair was also attended by the following Greek companies: Premium European Products (Kalavryta Cooperative), Albandakis, Savoidakis and Charm EU.
The Toronto ECA Office created an information brochure on the Greek companies participating, which was sent to 600 importing food companies. A series of meetings took place during the exhibition. In addition, each company had 10-12 meetings through the exhibition organizer’s “hosted buyers meetings” system. The representatives of the Greek companies expressed their satisfaction concerning their taking part in the fair, while this year’s overall participation is evaluated very positively: from one company in 2022 and five companies in 2023, there were 12 participations this year.
