AVOEL, the Cretan avocado production company intends to further strengthen its presence in international markets and the UAE market, in particular. To that end, the business is expected to launch an organic avocado range by the end of 2020. “We already have a cooperation with organic avocado producers, but everything will fall into place by the end of the year”, explains Mr Manolis Lerakis, CEO of AVOEL.
The company has already started taking steps to grow its presence in the markets it already exports, such as Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Bahrein, and Saudi Arabia, with exports accounting for 50% of its turnover.
“A start has been made for further growth in these markets, while we also intend to enter the UAE marketplace,” stated Mr Lerakis.
In addition, AVOEL is in the R&D process of a new product category, a homogenized avocado offering, which they expect to launch by the end of the year. Furthermore, the brand is aiming to start a large-scale investment within 2021-2022 in order to modernize its equipment and technologies.
