Nico Lazaridis Wines

A new wine journey begins with Châteaux Nico Lazaridi White & Rose 2023. The new vintages of Nico Lazaridi’s iconic wines come with new labels, which are part of an original visual narrative about wine. It’s been 35 years since the first Château Nico Lazaridi Lefko was released. The first vintage of 1987, released in 1988, was the first wine of the Drama vineyard: that wine marked a new era and contributed to the renaissance of modern Greek wine. To be noted that today, Nico Lazaridi produces over 1,300,000 bottles of wine annually and exports its products to 21 countries worldwide.

Important artwork

The Château wine family labels depict original works created specifically for these wines, inspired by them, and the people who created them. The winery’s visitors can see up close all the paintings that left their own mark in the history of the brand. Among them, the first labels comprise works by the likes of Yiannis Nanos, Yiannis Nikos, Phaedon Patrikalakis, Pavlos Kougioumtzis, Christos Markidis and Giorgos Taxidis, who created the anniversary triptych for the 30 years of Château.

All works are anthropocentric, highlighting the individual’s relationship with nature through creation, work, art and vision. Wine is a living product that evolves over time, just as the demands of the people who enjoy it. It is the result of a set of efforts, starting from the vineyard, continuing with vinification, bottling, to end up on our table and glass.

The Story Goes On

This year the Château is changing its label as the White and Rosé have just been released with labels designed by Yiannis Gigurtakis. Gigurtakis was inspired by his visit to the winery and by Florence, a place inextricably linked to the family of Nikos Lazaridis. The painting in White depicts the beginning of a course, a road that opens up, next to tall cypresses and among the vineyards while in Rosé the protagonist is the wine gushing from the Château. The winery is consistently present in each painting as a point of reference and source of inspiration.
